Obituary: Betty O Rice
July 15, 1929 – May 5, 2022

With great sorrow to all who knew her, Betty Rice died on 5/5/2022 at Jackson West Hospital at the age of 92. A native Miamian who lived in Miami Springs, she was an excellent musician and church organist, a wonderful mother and a friend to so many over a great many years. She was a Valedictorian at Miami High School and at the University of Miami, where she received her B.M. and M.M. degrees in Music. She was the organist at both churches and temples in a career that started at the age of 14. She was married to Fred B. Rice, Jr for 46 years until his death in 1996, and had 4 children, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Betty will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Miami Springs on Saturday, May 14th at 2:00 PM.
She will find her final resting place next to her beloved husband at Woodlawn Cemetery.
