His name is Donald P Pessolano of Virginia Gardens. He was born in Indiana ( 5/22/47) but moved to Miami Springs with his family at a young age and grew up there. He graduated Hialeah High School in 1965, served in the USN for 4 years where he became a Navy Seal and a dental technician. He returned to Miami Springs and became Miami Springs Police Officer in 1971 and served his community for 30 years, retiring as Sgt Donald Pessolano. He earned black belt in Karate and had his own studio in Miami Spring where he taught for several years, as well as at MSSH.
He passed away from complications of heart surgery on March 17, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Norma Jean Pessolano, and his son Timothy. He is survived by a son Scott, his brother Jimmy Pessolano of Miami Springs, his sister Nancy (Pessolano) Cayll of Tennessee, his partner of 4 years Lorraine DiMaggio of Ocala, and many adoring nieces and nephews. He will always be remembered as a man of honor and integrity. There will be no service due to the virus.
