Lifelong Miami Springs resident and current Miami Springs City Councilman, Walter Fajet, announced today he’s running for Mayor of Miami Springs. 

Fajet is a lifelong resident who also works within the City of Miami Springs.  Fajet is the Principal at the Academy for Innovative Education (AIE) Middle / High School located across from Stafford Park.

[MIAMI SPRINGS, FL, April 2024]Councilman Walter Fajet has launched his bid to succeed Maria Mitchell as Mayor of the City of Miami Springs.

Walter Fajet is a life-long Miami Springs resident and an elected official who has served as a member of the City Council since 2020.  

Fajet is a family man and lifelong Springs resident. He attended Springview Elementary, Miami Springs Junior High and graduated from Miami Springs Senior High School. 

An educator whose career has spanned almost 30 years. 

    • Worked as a Language Arts/Reading teacher and Reading Coach at Miami Springs Senior High School. 
    • Former Instructional Supervisor for Language Arts at Miami-Dade County Public Schools. 
    • Currently a Middle/High School Principal at AIE Charter School in Miami Springs. 

Over the years, residents of the Springs have come to know him through his various involvements and affiliations:

In his youth, he played soccer and little league baseball in Miami Springs. Throughout his formative years, he was a parishioner at Grace Lutheran Church. As an adolescent, he was senior patrol leader of Boy Scout Troop 425. And as an adult, he has been a civic-minded contributor to this community, serving on advisory boards for the city, and giving his time to service as a member of the Hialeah-Miami Springs Rotary Club. 

Walter Fajet is supported by his lovely wife Adriana Fajet and his 17-year-old son Nicolas. They live with their four rescue dogs: Nacho, Lola, Bella, and Dulce. Together, they ask for your consideration and support of his run for Mayor of the Beautiful City of Miami Springs.]
