Miami-Dade COVID-19 Cases
Miami-Dade had 13,513 new cases of COVID-19 over the last week. That puts the total number of coronavirus cases within our county at 337,773.
Miami-Dade had 259 new hospitalizations due to the coronavirus over the last week. While the number of new hospitalizations has increased, it’s not as bad as what we saw in August.
However, the number of new fatalities did increase over the last 7 days with 196 new fatalities within our county. This marks the highest number of weekly fatalities from COVID-19 in Miami-Dade County since September. The fatality rate increased back to 1.4% within Miami-Dade County.
FLORIDA COVID-19 CASES
The number of new cases of COVID-19 within the State of Florida continues to be high with over 95,000 new cases added over the last 7 days. That puts the total number of COVID-19 cases at over 1.5 million statewide.
Unfortunately, the number of fatalities is starting to catch up to the increase in cases with 1,230 new fatalities over the last week. That’s the highest number of new weekly fatalities statewide since August. The Florida COVID-19 fatality rate stands at 1.6%.
