There were no reports of the funnel cloud touching down and forming a tornado.

Nevertheless, conditions that can form funnel clouds are the same conditions that can form a tornado.

Today, you can get notified on your phone if there’s a Tornado Watch or a Tornado Warning.  A Tornado Watch is when conditions in the atmosphere have a good chance of forming a tornado.  A Tornado Warning indicates a tornado is on the ground either from a physical observation or based on radar readings.

If there’s a Tornado Warning issued in your area, seek shelter immediately.  And stay away from windows.
