The City of Miami Springs and the Miami Springs Police Department continue to ratchet up traffic enforcement near Hook Square.  For several months, you can count on seeing Miami Springs Police enforcing traffic rules at Hook Square.  Specifically the police department has been addressing the problem of drivers blocking the Hook Square intersection with Royal Poinciana Boulevard.

Well, the City of Miami Springs recently addressed the problem of drivers cutting over to South Drive from Curtiss Parkway in order to bypass traffic to Hook Square.  To eliminate the issue, the City of Miami Springs recently installed new NO LEFT TURN signs at South Drive and South Royal Poinciana Boulevard.

NO LEFT TURN at East Drive and South Royal Poinciana Blvd Weekdays from 4pm - 6pm

As you can see, the new signs prevent left turns during rush hour traffic weekdays from 4pm – 6pm.

We applaud the City of Miami Springs and the Miami Springs Police Department’s effort to curtail cut through traffic and enforcing our existing traffic laws.

  1. I am sorry, but that’s not the biggest traffic issue there. It is the traffic blockage that is caused by drivers who use the right-of-way lane from the circle onto N. Royal Poinciana to jump into the lanes of the bridge into Hialeah. These drivers will stop on the through lane and block traffic until they’re able to access their desired lane.
