The solar eclipse on Saturday was a rare astronomical event. We had the good fortune of a slight window to capture part of the eclipse in between pre-scheduled events.
Saturday started rainy and cloudy. Thankfully, the rain had subsided during the start of the eclipse. While the rains went away, the clouds were still in the way.
Now we used a special solar filter to view the sun and take the following photographs. NOTE: You should never look at the sun directly. Never ever look at the sun through a telescope or binoculars unless you have a specifically designed solar filter.
The pictures were not as crisp as we would like as the clouds diffused much of the sunlight. Nevertheless, you can make out a sun spot in some of the pictures.
