After a contractor broke a sewer pipe that allowed thousands of gallons of raw sewage onto the Miami Canal, Miami-Dade Water and Sewer placed signs not to fish or swim along the Miami Canal along the entire length of Miami Springs.

That means the water is safe again to fish, swim, and otherwise conduct water activities like kayaking and paddle boarding along the canal.
