After years of fighting for annexation. After the voters of the City of Miami Springs voted in favor of annexation. The County Planning Board rejects the Miami Springs bid for annexation of the Milam Dairy area just west of our city.
At the end of the day, the City did not do enough to reach out to the proposed annexation area and share the benefits of annexation to the powerful land owners of the area. As a result, they protested and the county, cash-strapped, listened and rejected the bid.
