Two risk factors can appear before you notice any #Kidney failure symptoms, giving you a head start to get on top of this disease.
High Blood Pressure
The first thing to watch for is high blood pressure. High blood pressure may be a sign of kidney disease, or in some cases it may cause the disease.
Diabetes
The second risk factor is diabetes. In fact, anyone who has high blood pressure and diabetes needs to be screened for kidney diseases.
Other important risk factors include:
- Family history of kidney disease.
- Regularly taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen as well as proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole.
- Chemotherapy regimens.
However, when in doubt, check it out. We recommend taking any questions or concerns to us, to the internist or nephrologist.
