Former Councilman, George lob, will take over the interim Council Seat vacated by Victor Vazquez.  Vazquez resigned from the seat to comply with Florida’s resign to run law.  Since he ran for the Miami-Dade County Commission District 6 Seat he was required to resign from his Council Seat.

George Lob has long been heavily involved with the community and has had lots of experience as a prior council member for the City of Miami Springs.  Not only that, but George has also previously served the Council on an interim basis.  He was selected as interim Council Member back in June of 2020.

After an initial back and forth with Mayor Mitchell, Bob Best, and Walter Fajet, over various candidates that included Kenny Amendola, Thad Ovarich, and George Lob, Mayor Mitchell ultimately got her candidate, George Lob, approved by a 4-0 vote.

We’d like to congratulate George on the interim position.  He has earned the trust of his peers and of our community. We’d like to wish him well as he takes over Seat IV until the April 2023 Miami Springs Municipal Election.
