About Amariah’s Wings Featuring OI Foundation

Our mission is to bring awareness to the disability caused by Osteogenesis Imperfecta and break down the subsequent limitations through fitness, motivation and progression!

Osteogenesis Imperfecta, commonly known as the “brittle bone disease,” is a genetic bone disorder characterized by extremely fragile bones.  The term itself means “bone imperfectly made from the beginning of life,” and the disorder affects a person throughout the entire span of their life.  There are 18 recognized types of OI, and the main cause of the disease is due to a dominant gene defect.

Amariah Joy has Type III OI, which is a sever type that results in low bone mass, short stature, and extreme bone failty.  Ove the 12 years of her life, Ami has come to know her body to achieve new goals in her rehabilitation.  Ami has not pushed her personal limits bus she has defied all expectations that were placed on her by OI.
