Miami Springs COVID-19 Cases
Our zip code (33166) had only 40 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 7 days. That’s the lowest number since late October, 2020. We estimate Miami Springs had 22 new cases last week. As you can see in the chart below, the number of new cases continue to decline.
Miami-Dade COVID-19 Cases
The Florida Department of Health reported less than 4,000 new cases of COVID-19 in Miami-Dade County over the last 7 days. That’s the lowest numbers reported since October 25, 2020.
We lost 67 people due to COVID-19 in Miami-Dade last week. That’s the 4th straight week we see fatalities in the 60s range. We can’t wait to see this drop down to single digits and eventually zero.
Florida COVID-19 Cases
Statewide, new cases of COVID-19 continue to decline. Florida had less than 19,000 new cases of COVID-19 last week or the lowest number since October 11, 2020. Weekly Florida fatalities from COVID-19 continues to remain under 500 per week. Stable, but we’d like to see this number come down further.

As more people get the vaccine, it creates a wall of suppression that prevents the virus from spreading. We encourage as many people to get the virus to help stop the spread of the disease.
Be extra vigilant with seniors and those who are vulnerable including those who are overweight and/or diabetic.
If you’re not vaccinated, wear a mask to protect yourself and others from getting this disease. Remember to follow the mask wearing guidances when riding public transportation or entering private or public establishments.
