According to Miami Springs Police Chief, Armando Guzman, there is no evidence of sexual assault in the Corydon Drive incident where family members found an unconscious elderly woman.

The investigation is ongoing, but initial indications are that despite initial reports the home was ransacked, it appears things are not missing.

As you know, WSVN 7 initially reported of a possible Rape in the area of Hammond and Corydon in Miami Springs.  (See the WSVN 7 report below.)

WPLG was more conservative in the reporting indicating that an elderly woman was found unconscious Wednesday morning in her own home.  According to the WPLG report, family member’s discovered that the home was ransacked.  However, as indicated above, MSPD is reporting that nothing appears to be missing.

Some of the initial reporting of a possible sexual assault was due to the presence of  Miami-Dade’s SVU (Special Victim’s Unit) which was on the scene assisting with the investigation.

Channel 4 also posted the following video regarding the incident.

To recap, no evidence of sexual assault has been found as the investigation into what happened continues.

As more information becomes available, we’ll share it with the Miami Springs Community.
