State Senator Manny Diaz, Jr. presented a $1,600,000 check at the Senior Center on Tuesday, May 14th for the City of Miami Springs.
According to the City of Miami Springs:
- $850,000 will be appropriated for the new Senior Center.
- $750,000 for the South Royal Poinciana median project
- From East Drive to LeJeune Rd.
Manny Diaz, Jr was quoted by the city as stating: “It is Important to fight for the community and to improve the community, and it was truly a team effort.”
According to the City of Miami Springs, State Representative Bryan Avila also played a major role in this award for the City.
The City Manager was quoted stating “This is the highest amount of funding from the State that the City has received in recent history, if not ever.”
Last summer, Miami-Dade Commissioner Rebeca Sosa presented the City with a Million Dollars towards the new Senior Center.
