At Monday’s Miami Springs City Council Meeting, the City Manager, JC Jimenez, announced that Miami Springs Police Chief, Armando Guzman, will be retiring at the end of this month.
Chief Guzman was selected as the Miami Springs Police Chief by former Miami Springs City Manager, Ron Gorland back in 2014.
During the Chief’s tenure, he’s expanded the department as demand for police services has grown, especially from the hotels.
Chief Guzman also worked with multi-agency task forces to fight human trafficking and other crimes.
On a personal level, I can tell you that Chief Guzman was always readily available to work with community groups and help the community in any way possible. We appreciate the hard work and professionalism Chief Guzman brought to Miami Springs and wish him the best in his retirement.
New Chief: Captain Jimmy Deal
JC Jimenez announced that he has appointed longtime Miami Springs resident and Miami Springs Police Captain, Jimmy Deal, as our new Chief of Police. We want to congratulate Captain Deal on being selected as the new Chief of Police. Deal is a graduate of Miami Springs Senior High and longtime resident. He has served the Miami Springs Police Department since the 1990s when he was a K-9 Officer. Deal has made a career for himself with the Springs Police Department and want to wish him nothing but the best success as he takes on his new role.
Please join us in thanking Chief Guzman for his service to our community. And let us congratulate Captain Jimmy Deal on his appointment as our future Chief of Police.
